Owner Dr. Terri Dees

Dr. Terri Dees says she believes in her clients until they are able to believe in themselves. And sometimes that’s just the inspiration people need to keep going—whether they are on the path to total fitness or simply better health.

Through her Sarasota practice Dees Integrative Health, founded in 2012, Dees focuses on holistic solutions and chiropractic care, treating everything from obesity and chronic pain to mobility issues and sports injuries. Dees also knows the struggle of keeping off weight, remaining fit, and staying motivated. When clients take medications like Ozempic, for example, Dees is there to help them stick to their weight-loss path without backsliding.

“You can’t fulfill your calling in life if you’re sick. I’ve been over-weight myself, so I understand how hard it can be, and I see such massive changes in people’s health when we get the weight off their frames,” she says. “Some people, once they have the weight off, then we can address other problems through chiropractic care, and we can reset the metabolism to a more sustainable model. But a lot of mind-set stuff happens throughout the process.”

“People are getting sicker, and throwing more medicine at it doesn’t change the problem.”

Dees’s vision has always been to help people live their best-quality lives; however, it’s not always easy for patients to find health-conscious paths that have real longevity.

“People are getting sicker, and throwing more medicine at it doesn’t change the problem. I don’t put anyone on drugs or take anyone off drugs,” Dees says. “But we’ve seen incredible results. We’ve had a bride that took off 30 pounds before her wedding day, a man in his 80s who took off almost 80 pounds, people with menopause who saw their hot flashes go away, and lots of post-Ozempic people who now have a really good plan in place and have learned to listen to their bodies.”

Keeping people on their customized paths is what Dees does to ensure optimum success. And she educates the world about her methods through two New York Times bestselling books: Body by God and One-Minute Wellness. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University in Canada and a doctorate of chiropractic degree from Life University in Georgia.

“I’m in very close contact with all of our weight-loss patients so they know I’m always on their side. I’m there to motivate them when they don’t believe in themselves. I feel like I can believe in them until they’re able to believe in themselves,” she says. “Everybody needs a coach at some point in their life. That’s the piece I enjoy the most. Sometimes, when you’re struggling, it’s nice to have someone help you who has walked in your shoes.”
